Ahdo BBQ ribs

1 lazy Saturday noon
4 hungry stomachs
4 sloths on sofas
1 guy barbecuing pork ribs on Discovery Travel&Adventure
4 sloths drooling
4 sloths picked themselves up and sloth to Ribs for ribs.

Alright, enough of slough-ing.

Ribs BBQ restaurant.
Located at Burma Rd, opposite of BMW showroom and next to PG plaza.

Have passed by the place countless of times, but the thought of patronizing never came up cause I thought that it is just another setup ala Tony Roma's Msia - ribs restaurant without pork ribs.

But after checking the restaurant on the Net (fueled by a sudden, intense craving to tear into pork ribs), it DOES serve pork ribs. Shame on you, Tony dude!

Unpretentious interior decor

It was a nice cosy and comfy place with around 10+ tables and a small corner for wine-cellar. Though it lacked the deliberate decor usually found in other similar restaurants, the place does have some nice little touches like the use of drapes and the chessboard flooring to create a simple yet elegant ambiance.

We opted for the set lunch and ordered sets of Salsa Seafood Spaghetti, BBQ Ribs and Prawn, Fish & Chips and a ala carte serving of Baby Back Rib. FYI, the sets comes with a soup of the day, choice of tea, coffee or ice lemon tea and a dessert (a scoop of ice-cream).
Soup of the day - Tomato soup
Way better than the Campell's but a tad too salty to me. Comes with a soft bun too.

Salsa Seafood Spaghetti
Al-dente to perfection with rich chunky salsa sauce, this pasta dish could have easily been the 'order of the day' if not for the following dish. The sweet and sourness of the tomato salsa will leave you wanting for more after chomping down the entire plate.

Enter the sexy back
Baby back ribs - Dorsal view
Interestingly, the waitress came back to our table awhile after taking our orders. She apologetically informed us that the ribs were running short and asked if we would like to switch to other selection on the menu or go ahead with a smaller piece of ribs. Then, she added that the price for that order would be reduced accordingly to the size of the ribs. On any other occasion, we might have opted for a change, but then after drooling in front of the TV, how could we just let it (the ribs) off the hook so easily?

While waiting for ours ribs to arrive, we managed to get a glimpse at other patrons' full-sized ribs which were really HUGE. If you think the one above is big already, then the original size would be gargantuan.

It was one of the best ribs I ever laid my teeth and tongue upon. Marinated right through the bone and nicely grilled, it was a magnificent piece of ribs with the tender, juicy meat hugging the bones with just the correct "tightness", making the tearing-off of the meat a purely sensational delight.

BBQ ribs and prawn
This was actually the mini version of the baby back with an added buttered prawn. A good option for those with a small appetite or those that are "high-calorie intolerant" a.k.a. dieters.

Fish & Chips
Two thick fillets of fish. Nice but nothing extraordinary. Though personally I would prefer a more generous amount of chips.

Total for everything was slightly below RM90. The rib was a steal at a mere 18 bucks instead of the usual RM29.80. Ribs BBQ restaurant is definitely high on my recommended list though a word of advice/reminder is that one should not go on an empty stomach as the BBQ-ing takes time.
