Ahdo EPL Cup sighting

On a dull and cloudy day, the skinny alien and I arrived in 1Utama with one purpose.

For this,
Yup, this is THE thing that represents the culmination of 3420 minutes of sweat, blood and tooth fragment (no, seriously). No, it wouldn't turn water into wine, neither will it make you a cuppa of espresso. Well, perhaps u can use it to deep-fry chips in it or as a potty for toddlers (but that would only happen when the XX overrules the ball watching [no pun intended] XY).

Enough of sidetracking.

This is the English Premier League trophy, which is now in the hands of Manchester United FC after winning it in the recently concluded 2007/08 season. It was flown in by AirAsia (which is the official sponsor of low fare airline for Man Utd) for display at 1Utama for 8 hours on the 4th of June. And i could have easily missed this rare opportunity if not for my trusty ET.

Credit to where it's due. Ladies and gentlemen, plz put ur hands together for Ms Alien 'hearts-Scofield' Tan.

Of course, there were other activities like football on PS2 and foosball but the limelight of the event is undoubtedly, on the trophy. Thus, after a quick pose with it (nono, i'm not going to terrorised fellow supporters by exposing my idiotic pose with it), we continued the day doing what XX's are best at doing in 1Utama - shopping.

One remaining thought though.
Eh, Mr Fernandez, next time can bring in the Champions' League Cup as well ah? Thanks in advance.

Side note: Unfortunately, this auspicious day coincides with the day we have to start paying 40% more for petrol. The rush and chaos for last minute fill-up by fellow Msians caused my journey back home to be exactly 1 full hour instead of the usual 15 minutes drive for the 15km stretch. Thanz, my dear gowamen. Shall not go further than this lest 10 years worth of coupons for curry rice.

Demonstration overdose?

First BERSIH now HINDRAF.

What sort of times are we heading into? While I'm not in the position to judge, the former, IMHO, did show some sense and behaved sensibly during the demo. The purpose of the latter however, leaves me incredulous. Don't get me wrong. I do pity the plight of the group of people especially in the case which their temples were demolished. And I do believe the former colonizer of the nation did play a part in the past. But the asking of USD1M/head does give out a negative vibe on the entire movement. An apology plus an education fund could perhaps project a better image.

But, on a lighter note, such incidences do provide some unique 'entertainment' to our mundane lives now that the usual sources (the likes of Heroes and Prison Break) are slowly grinding to a halt due to the writers' strike. Having said that, I still prefer watching mutants in action rather than some bad English lessons.

Ahdo home coming

Back in Penang after a maddening series of chicanes that caused bumper2bumper crawl at 20km/h on the NS highway.

Anyhow, it's definitely good to be home again. However, the weather hasn't been so kind. The relentless heat is making my body wet, very wet*. Still, i'm getting used to and enjoying every minute of the freedom of doing anything/nothing.

Nothing beats a fresh brew of coffee in the morning with a copy of newspaper under a veranda. Laze around after breakfast. Watch some TVs. Pick up a book. Whip up some seafood pasta for lunch. A glass of lime juice. More TV. Laze around. Chit chat. Dinner. Supper. Ah....... Life is good, almost surreal.

(Update: Life could be better, if Utd hadn't lost last night and/or if our Malaysian world no.2 had managed to win the China leg of the Badminton Super Series together with his gal that won the women's title.)

Just finished Obi Wan's round the world adventure. At this rate, I'm gonna run out of things to do for past-time.

A (very) shortlist of others joining the home coming wagon:
Ken 'NeedAHotSis' C. would be back in two weeks time - "Hang in there dude!"
Kenny 'CrappyRocker' N. is almost back - "Need to have a piece/glimpse/taste of you before you head to the dunes again"

Reservoir of memory is almost full with recent happenings. Need to unload soon.

Lightsabre for BMW

Emo mode shutting down....
Initializing default/kiasu mode....

Back to old self.

Has been feeling the aftermath of the physicoemo-taxing exam lately. Wasn't helped by the sudden onset of fever which has just only been doused by the trusty combination of paracetamol + herbal tea. Still, the emo index is plummeting like the credibility of the 'gowamen'#.

Mr Obi Wan (right) posing with his kickass BMW bike and pal

Went to the Penguin Books Warehouse Sale with my still leaky nose. Rummaged thru countless boxes of dusty books and found the above two. 15 bucks for Obi Wan's adventure and 22 for Neil "StarDust" Gaiman's Anansi Boys (thick cover). Penguin has just made my day week ! LOL!....*cough*.....*choke*....

Need to rest more. Ciao for now.
